A LITTLE TEASER FROM MY NEWEST BOOK! 'WHAT'S YOUR POISON'
“You are not helping us. I bet all the beds are open!” the man interrupted. His fingers curled tightly in a fist. He could feel his fist smashing into EMT’s nose, splattering red blood all over the dirty walls. That would have made him feel better. “If you wanted to help, you would have given me a blanket and a sandwich,” he said instead. Throwing up his arms he stomped to the door. “F#$@ you!” he shouted as he kicked the door so hard it slammed against the wall.
I have a new book called 'What's Your Poison'. It is about drugs, alcohol and homelessness. It is fiction but the idea has come to me from real events.
So I am writing this section to talk to you about this subject. I myself have never been on drugs or alcohol. I have come close to being homeless. I do remember when we had five kids, no jobs and lived in 3 bedroom apartment with my son's bed under the stairway. We ate a lot of peanut butter and mac & cheese.
I work with a lot of people who are recovering addicts. They are some of the nicest people I have ever met. And their stories will make you cry.
I have never really met people on heroin or meth before I got this job. And I would be lying if I said this isn't scary.
I was almost killed at my job one day. Not sure what this patient was on but it is in my book. I would love to hear stories from you. Do you know anyone on drugs or alcohol or maybe you have been there yourself.
Thanks for reading and I hope to hear from you.
I hope you are all having a great day. I live in Phoenix and the weather is wonderful. Just a reminder you can find my books on Amazon and I hope you take the time to check them out. Here is the link https://www.amazon.com/Marie-Fostino/e/B003NQV32W/ref=ntt_dp_epwbk_0
Thank you for your support and have a great week!!!
